WAITING FOR GODOT
Written by Samuel Beckett
June 13 – July 6 | 2025
And now for something completely different, Samuel Beckett’s absolute masterpiece, and one of the most important texts of the last century: Waiting for Godot has surely become one of the most canonical and enigmatic plays since Shakespeare; a deeply nuanced and humours story about two seemingly homeless men waiting for someone – or something – named Godot. Vladimir and Estragon wait near a tree, inhabiting a drama spun of their own rich consciousness.
The result is a comical wordplay of poetry, dreamscapes, and profound nonsense – which has been interpreted in myriad ways in our inexhaustible search for meaning. This feast of language and the play’s incontestable reputation as a modern classic make it the perfect companion to Shakespeare.
A performance in the monastic Ruins at Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park.
