Dear Actors & Directors,

We are trying to re-imagine what “general auditions” are all about this year. So here’s what we have planned: an informal gathering with our Artistic Director, Rodrigo Beilfuss, so that we can get to know you a bit more, and artists can mingle and connect with each other in a more meaningful way. It’s our 2024 Meet & Greet! Happening on Friday, February 16, from 2 – 4pm at Prairie Theatre Exchange (PTE) – third floor of Portage Place Mall.

At this gathering, you’ll be able to:

• introduce yourself and share your thoughts and ideas about theatre and Shakespeare
• ask Rodrigo any questions you might have about SIR, Shakespeare, the acting business, etc
• get to know other local actors and directors
• hear first-hand from Rodrigo about his plans for 2024 (and beyond), and get insights into how seasons and shows are assembled
• enjoy free coffee and treats

Additionally, if you enjoy our conversations, and would like to formally audition for SIR, then please share a self-tape featuring two contrasting Shakespeare monologues of your choice (2-3min in length each) by Friday, March 01, 2024. You can email your pieces directly to Rodrigo at ad@sirmb.ca

If you’re a director, you may also submit a pitch via email, and request a private meeting.

For artists whose work Rodrigo/SIR is familiar with, please feel free to express interest in performing in our upcoming season(s); but there’s no need to formally audition at this time.

Only artists who can work as ‘Winnipeg locals’ will be considered.
